The sons of U.S. President Donald Trump have become participants in a Kazakhstani tungsten mining project, which is expected to help the U.S. reduce its dependence on China for metal supplies used in the defense industry, according to the Financial Times newspaper.

According to the publication, Donald Jr. and Eric Trump purchased a stake in the company Skyline Builders in August 2025.

In October, Skyline acquired a 20% stake in Kaz Resources (a subsidiary of the New York-based mining group Cove Capital).

A week later, Cove Capital and Kazakhstan's national company agreed on the joint development of the world's largest tungsten deposit. The publication states that Cove Capital, which competed with Russian and Chinese companies, enjoyed the support of the U.S. administration.

On Thursday, Skyline and Cove Capital structures announced a merger. The combined company will be listed on Nasdaq under the brand Kaz Resources. Despite Skyline's involvement in the deal, the names of the Trump brothers do not appear in the official press release.

A representative of the brothers stated that they are passive investors and have no operational influence over the company.
