New Catholicos-Patriarch of all Georgia to be elected next week
Next week, an expanded meeting of the council of the Georgian Orthodox Church will take place.
As reported by AZERTAC, this was announced during a sermon at the Kashueti Cathedral by the current Locum Tenens of the Patriarchal Throne, Metropolitan Shio (Mujiri) of Senaki and Chkhorotsku.
According to him, an expanded church council will be held next week, during which a new Catholicos-Patriarch will be elected.
It should be noted that at the Synod meeting held on April 28, three candidates for the patriarchy were determined.
