Pezeshkian names condition for starting negotiations on opening the Strait of Hormuz
Lifting the naval blockade imposed by the United States is a mandatory condition for starting negotiations with Iran on the issue of free navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.
President of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian stated this during a telephone conversation with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron.
He noted that Washington violates international law by seizing Iranian vessels.
“Any negotiations regarding the full opening of the Strait of Hormuz require the lifting of the naval blockade imposed by the United States,” the press service of the Iranian president conveyed his words on their Telegram channel.
Pezeshkian also emphasized that the effectiveness of negotiations between Iran and the United States will depend on the resolution of the conflict between the two countries.
Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump stated that the United States will end Operation Epic Fury against the Islamic Republic if Tehran agrees to a deal with Washington.
