Ghalibaf: no alternative to Iran's 14-point proposal for agreement with US
Speaker of Iran's Majlis (parliament) Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf stated that there is no alternative to Tehran's 14-point proposal for resolving the conflict with the US, and any other approaches are doomed to failure.
He published the corresponding statement on X.
"There is no alternative other than recognizing the rights of the Iranian people as set out in the 14-point proposal. Any other approach will be completely fruitless and lead only to a series of failures," he noted. Ghalibaf emphasized that the longer the US "drags out time, the more American taxpayers will pay for it."
In early May, Iran transmitted to the US via Pakistan a 14-point proposal that contained a "road map" for reaching an agreement. This document was sent in response to a previously received initiative from the American side, consisting of nine points. As reported by the Fars agency, the Iranian response proposal does not include acceptance of a 15-year suspension of uranium enrichment or the opening of the Strait of Hormuz until a final agreement on settlement between the parties is reached.
