Pashinyan says Robert Kocharyan should be in prison
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan believes that Armenia's second president Robert Kocharyan should be in prison.
"The March 1 case has been solved, solved 100 percent, solved in all details; another matter is that our law enforcement system should bring the ringleader Robert Kocharyan to legal responsibility; in short, Robert Kocharyan (now heading the proportional list of candidates for deputies of the Armenia bloc - ed.) should be imprisoned," Pashinyan stated.
According to him, until this happens, the authorities will not be able to convince anyone that there is fair justice in Armenia. "The biggest accusation against me, which is very difficult for me to answer, is the following: people ask why Robert Kocharyan is at large," the prime minister noted.
He assured that he is trying to distance himself as much as possible from topics that concern him personally, since the temptation is great, and he is also afraid of comments so that there is no impression that he came to power to resolve his personal issues.
"I want issues to be resolved at the institutional level. This is a public matter, starting with how oligarchic groups were formed, how military uniforms were distributed," concluded the leader of the now-ruling party.
