Araghchi received an invitation to New York

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi was invited by China, the current chair of the UN Security Council, to a meeting on peace and security issues scheduled for May 26.

This was reported by Esmaeil Baghaei, a representative of the Islamic Republic's Foreign Ministry.

"Taking into account China's rotating presidency of the UN Security Council and this country's plans to hold a special meeting of foreign ministers on issues related to peace and security, the foreign minister of our country has also been invited to participate in this session," he noted in an interview with the ISNA agency.

According to Baghaei, a decision on Araghchi's participation in the session has not yet been made.
