China and US form mechanism to eliminate drug trafficking
Law enforcement agencies of China and the United States have formed a joint well-established mechanism to eliminate international drug trafficking channels. This was reported by the Ministry of Public Security of the PRC.
As clarified on the department's page in the social network WeChat, since 2024, anti-drug regulators of the two countries have jointly investigated cases of transnational trade in new psychotropic substances. In particular, in February, acting on data provided by the American side, police in the centrally administered city of Tianjin (Central China) detained a suspect involved in drug sales and identified a channel for supplying prohibited drugs.
"The successful solving of this case demonstrated not only the well-coordinated work of the cooperation mechanism between China and the United States in the field of combating drugs, but also became a practical result of the joint fight of the two countries against cross-border crime," the ministry indicated.
Beijing and Washington, as noted, take a firm stance on combating drug trafficking and show maximum intolerance toward it.
