Putin's road: Russia proposed creating an alternative to the Trump road
In Russia, it was proposed to create the "road of Russian President Vladimir Putin" to Armenia.
This was stated by the director of the National Research Institute for the Development of Communications Vladislav Gasumyanov at the international conference "Russia and the World: Dialogues — 2026. New Reality," Lenta.ru correspondent reports.
"If there is a 'road [of US President Donald] Trump' from Azerbaijan to Turkey, then why can't there be a 'Putin road' from Russia, through Abkhazia and Georgia to Armenia," Gasumyanov explained.
Recall that the "Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity" (TRIPP) project is considered an important step in the implementation of the Washington agreements of August 8, 2025.
The TRIPP route – the section of the Zangezur corridor passing through the territory of Armenia – is significant for ensuring unimpeded communication between the main part of Azerbaijan and its Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, as well as for diversifying trade and connectivity on a broader regional scale.
