US announces reward of up to $10 million for information on Hezbollah financing
The United States has announced a reward of up to 10 million dollars for information that will allow identifying and blocking various channels of financing for the Lebanese Shiite movement Hezbollah.
A corresponding message has been posted on the website of the US Department of State.
The statement emphasizes that a reward of up to 10 million dollars is provided for data that will help uncover the financial schemes and mechanisms used by Hezbollah to obtain and move funds. It concerns any information capable of contributing to undermining and blocking these financial flows.
The State Department separately noted that the main task of the United States in Lebanon remains the complete disarmament of the armed formations of the Hezbollah movement. In addition, Washington considers it necessary to restore the full and exclusive control of the Lebanese government over the entire territory of the country, as well as to ensure the state's monopoly on the use of force and weapons.
