Yellow and orange warnings announced in Azerbaijan due to strong winds
On May 25 in Baku and on the Absheron Peninsula, as well as on May 25–27 in a number of regions of the country, yellow and orange levels of weather danger have been announced due to expected strong winds.
As reported by 1news.az, the information was distributed by the National Hydrometeorological Service.
According to the forecast, in Baku and on the Absheron Peninsula, as well as in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, Gazakh, Agstafa, Tovuz, Shamkir, Ganja, Agdam, Gadabay, Goygol, Samukh, Zardab, Sabirabad, Goychay, Imishli, Balakan, Zagatala, Gakh, Sheki, Oguz, Gabala, Ismayilli, Agdash, Shamakhi, Gobustan, Guba, Gusar, Khachmaz, Shabran, Siazan, Khizi, Neftchala, Salyan, Saatly, Lerik, Yardimli, Jalilabad, Bilasuvar, Kalbajar, Lachin, Fizuli, Beylagan, and Zangilan, a northwesterly wind with a speed of 13.9–20.7 m/s is expected, corresponding to the yellow warning level.
At the same time, an orange level of danger has been announced in Mingachevir, Barda, Tartar, Yevlakh, Naftalan, Goranboy, and Dashkasan. Here, the speed of the northwesterly wind may increase to 20.8–28.4 m/s.
