Iran releases detained Indian sailors from tanker MV Harbour Phoenix
Iran has released ten Indian citizens who were previously detained after the interception of an oil tanker near the port of Jask in July 2025.
This is reported by Iran International, citing Indian shipping authorities.
According to India's Directorate General of Shipping, the sailors were on board the vessel MV Harbour Phoenix and were detained after the vessel was seized by Iranian authorities.
The agency stated that coordination of measures continues for their return to their homeland and ensuring the safety of Indian sailors abroad.
Official reasons for the interception of the tanker and the circumstances of the detention were not previously disclosed in full.
