Iran says it needs to strengthen control over Strait of Hormuz
Member of the committee on national security of the Iranian parliament stated that the country should make maximum use of the strategic importance of the Strait of Hormuz, through which a significant part of world oil supplies passes.

Politician Amir Hayat-Mokaddam noted that this strait is an “important economic artery” on which world trade depends, and emphasized that it is under the control of the Islamic Republic.
According to him, control over the Strait of Hormuz is a strategic achievement of Iran, and the country should extract maximum geopolitical and economic benefit from this.
The former commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps also called for a revision of the international legal regime regulating the use of the strait.
