Romania closes Russian consulate general in Constanta

Romania, due to the UAV incident, has decided to close the Russian Federation consulate general in Constanta; the consul general has been declared persona non grata.

This was stated by Romanian President Nicusor Dan following a meeting of the country's Supreme Defense Council, which discussed the consequences of the drone falling on a house in the city of Galati.

"In this situation, the Russian consul general in Constanta has been declared persona non grata and the Russian consulate general in Constanta will be closed," the head of state said. His speech was broadcast on the website of the presidential administration.

Earlier, the Romanian Defense Ministry reported that a drone fell on the roof of an apartment building in the city of Galati. Bucharest blamed Russia for the incident. The country's Foreign Ministry said it had summoned the Russian ambassador to inform him of the measures that would be taken at the diplomatic level.
