Iran calls reports of President Pezeshkian's resignation 'gossip'
Information about a letter from Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian to Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei about his resignation is false "gossip."
This was stated on the social network X by Mehdi Tabatabai, deputy head of the communications department of the Iranian president's administration.
Earlier, the UK-based Iranian opposition television channel Iran International reported on Pezeshkian's resignation, citing a source. According to the report, Pezeshkian allegedly warned that the country's governance had gone beyond official institutions.
"The gossip of a disgraceful foreign network is a continuation of previous absurd media games. They published their wishes instead of reality. The president will not back down from serving the people," Tabatabai responded to the rumors.
In addition, Elyas Hazrati, chairman of the government information policy council of Iran, also denied the reports of Pezeshkian's resignation.
