Pashinyan states need for changes in Armenian government
Interdepartmental groups must be created in the government to address large-scale issues requiring the participation of several agencies.
This was stated by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan at a cabinet meeting when discussing work priorities for the next five years.
According to him, this issue arose during discussions of Armenia's energy transformation program and the transition to green energy. The possibility of creating a new ministry for renewable energy was discussed, but after lengthy cabinet discussions, it was concluded that this would not solve the problem. This is because the development of green energy must involve the ministry of territorial administration, the urban development committee, and municipal authorities.
Therefore, it is necessary to consider organizations that would handle important projects but make decisions more promptly than existing interdepartmental commissions.
"Our colleagues from the ministry of justice should help us create such organizations supervised by deputy prime ministers," Pashinyan added.
In this regard, the offices of the deputy prime ministers should receive broader powers.
