Zakharova: EAEU will not tolerate Armenia's dependent position with preparation for joining the EU

The Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) will not tolerate a situation in which Armenia takes a dependent position toward the union while simultaneously preparing for European integration.

This was stated at a briefing by Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova.

"The republican leadership is trying to convince its citizens that supposedly no choice needs to be made between the EU and the EAEU, as the question is now being posed. It is possible, they say, to receive all the preferences from Eurasian integration and at the same time prepare oneself for an application for membership in another economic bloc. No, it is not possible. We do not intend to tolerate such a dependent position toward the EAEU union," the diplomat emphasized.
