Tsarukyan to challenge CEC decision on annulling votes in court

Leader of the Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) Gagik Tsarukyan issued a harsh statement, accusing the authorities of deliberately disrupting his political force's passage into parliament.

The reason for this was the CEC's emergency nighttime decision to declare the voting results at two polling stations invalid, as a result of which the party lost 213 votes and now risks failing to overcome the 4 percent threshold.

Tsarukyan called the actions of the Central Election Commission an "open rout" and the "culmination of a dirty campaign," which, according to him, throughout the elections was accompanied by pressure, arrests of activists, and the use of administrative resources, news.am reports. According to the politician, the annulment of the results occurred precisely where Prosperous Armenia had "recorded high indicators."

In response to the CEC's actions, the party is launching a large-scale legal campaign to appeal the decisions in courts and is beginning urgent political consultations with all opposition forces to form a united front in the struggle against the authorities.
