Ynet: Netanyahu tells Trump that Israel will not withdraw troops from Lebanon

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told U.S. leader Donald Trump that Israel will not withdraw its troops from Lebanon and does not consider itself obligated to fulfill the "Lebanese clause" in the U.S. agreement with Iran.

The Ynet portal reported this, citing Israeli sources.

According to its data, Netanyahu "made it clear" that the Israel Defense Forces will remain in their current positions in Lebanon and will continue to act against the threat from the Shiite movement Hezbollah, including "destroying terrorist infrastructure and responding to any attacks on Israel."

Earlier, officials from the U.S., Iran, and Pakistan, which is acting as mediator, confirmed the reaching of an agreement between Washington and Tehran. It is planned to be signed in Geneva on June 19. According to Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi, during the 60-day ceasefire, the parties will discuss, among other things, Tehran's nuclear program, and from June 15, the end of the U.S. naval blockade of Iran is announced, as well as the immediate and permanent cessation of military operations on all fronts, including Lebanon.
