Vance: passage through Hormuz will be free for 60 days of US and Iran negotiations

Ships will pass through the Strait of Hormuz free of charge for 60 days of US and Iran negotiations after the signing of a memorandum of understanding.

This was stated by US Vice President JD Vance.

"The deal states that for 60 days, while we negotiate the final agreement, access to and from the Strait of Hormuz will be free," he said in an interview with NBC News.

Washington, according to Vance, expects that passage through the waterway will remain free even after the conclusion of the final version of the agreement. "During the negotiations, the question arose, what if the ship breaks down? Will there be a fee for service if the ship has to be towed? This is a completely different question. Perhaps this is what the Iranians mean. I repeat, we have clearly made it clear to them that we will not tolerate a system that involves charging for the passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz," the US vice president concluded.
