Araghchi: new stage of US-Iran negotiations to begin after signing of memorandum

New round of negotiations between the US and Iran on the lifting of sanctions and resolution of the conflict surrounding Iran's nuclear program will begin from the moment of signing a memorandum of understanding in Geneva on Friday.

This was stated by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.

"The memorandum of understanding between Iran and the US was finally agreed upon on Sunday and will be officially signed in the near future - probably on Friday - and at a place that will be determined later. Simultaneously with this, a new round of negotiations between Iran and the US will begin with the aim of reaching a final agreement," he said at a meeting with ambassadors of foreign states accredited in Iran.

Earlier, officials from the US, Iran and Pakistan, acting as mediator, confirmed the achievement of an agreement between Washington and Tehran. It is planned to be signed in Geneva on June 19. As noted in Tehran, during the 60-day period after the signing of the memorandum, the parties will discuss, among other things, Tehran's nuclear program, and from June 15 the end of the US naval blockade of Iran is announced, as well as the immediate and permanent cessation of military operations on all fronts, including Lebanon.
