Investment fund worth $300 billion included in US-Iran agreement
The framework agreement between the US and Iran provides for the creation of a private investment fund worth $300 billion intended to stimulate investments in the Iranian economy, Reuters and Bloomberg report citing a source familiar with the progress of negotiations.
According to Reuters, more than half of the stated amount has already been secured by investor commitments. The fund will be formed entirely from private capital without the participation of state funds or grants.
The source clarified that the fund is viewed as an economic mechanism aimed at supporting the conclusion of a final agreement between the parties. It plans to attract companies from the US, Persian Gulf countries, Asia, as well as South America and Africa. Investments are expected to be directed to the energy sector, transport, industry and logistics.
