Hakan Fidan considers '3+3' format extremely important mechanism for regional cooperation
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan considers the "3+3" format an extremely important mechanism in terms of deepening cooperation between Turkey, Azerbaijan, Russia, Iran, Armenia and Georgia.
"As countries of the region, we must realize the following: instead of rivalry and the pursuit of dominance, we need to prioritize cooperation," he said in an interview with the newspaper Türkiye.
"The '3+3' format will serve important cooperation. Of course, there are obstacles, distrust of some countries toward each other. On the other hand, there is also a joint search for solutions. Last week we had a meeting in the Azerbaijan — Turkey — Georgia format. Certain steps are being taken, especially on the issue of connectivity (transport and logistics links). The connection of Turkey to the Middle Corridor was discussed. We believe that important steps can be taken in these directions," Fidan said.
