Armenia acquires Airbus helicopters
Airbus Helicopters and the Republic of Armenia have signed a contract for the acquisition of six H145 helicopters, the company reports.
The agreement, which was finalized during the official state visit of French President Emmanuel Macron to Yerevan, has recently entered into force.
The multipurpose H145 helicopters will be used for transport missions. This purchase marks Armenia's first-ever contract with Airbus Helicopters and signifies the modernization of the country's helicopter fleet with one of the most versatile and reliable aircraft in its class, the company reports.
The H145 helicopter is known for its high performance characteristics, especially in high-altitude and hot-climate conditions, making it ideally suited for Armenia's varied and mountainous terrain. The five-bladed version of the H145 provides increased payload capacity, smoother flight, and simplified maintenance.
More than 1,800 helicopters of the H145 family are currently in operation worldwide, having accumulated over 8.5 million flight hours in total. Equipped with two Safran Arriel 2E engines, the H145 features a digital engine control system (FADEC) and the Helionix digital avionics suite. The helicopter is also equipped with a highly efficient four-axis autopilot, which enhances flight safety and reduces pilot workload. Thanks to its particularly low noise level, the H145 is considered the quietest helicopter in its class, and its CO₂ emissions are among the lowest among competitors.
