Trump points to inadmissibility of transgender participation in women's sports

U.S. President Donald Trump stated that transgender men should not take part in women's sports competitions.

"A man came who made the transition. That's the term. He was at the bottom of the list of male weightlifters, but now he is a female weightlifter. He looked at the weight, I think it was 210 pounds. That's a lot for a woman, but not for a man who can do it with one hand," the American leader said during a speech on economic issues in the vicinity of Allentown (Pennsylvania).

Then the head of the White House also made a gesture supposedly demonstrating a male athlete lifting a barbell with two hands.

"And he won, and everyone said how wonderful. Are we crazy? Men should not participate in women's sports," Trump summed up.

In March, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) decided to ban transgender people from participating in women's competitions. Later, the IOC clarified that transgender people will be able to take part in Olympic competitions in categories corresponding to their biological sex.
