Erdogan: Despite provocations, we kept Turkey away from the ring of fire
Today Turkey has gained such weight and authority in its region and in the world that it has never had before.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated this today at a meeting of the parliamentary faction of the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP).
“Turkey is one of the countries that most correctly understands the changes taking place in the global system and most successfully manages this process by developing rational policies. We are aware of our capabilities and our potential,” he said.
According to him, the Iranian crisis demonstrated the opportunity to see what a high level Turkey and Turkish foreign policy have reached: “Thanks to our policy based on common sense, prudence and justice, we kept our country away from this ring of fire. Despite all kinds of provocations, we did not allow even one of our citizens to suffer.”
“We did not follow Israel's games aimed at kindling new centers of unrest and discord in our region. The fact is that the events that occurred during the Iranian crisis showed everyone how great a state the Republic of Turkey is,” Erdogan emphasized.
According to him, this process also confirmed the obvious advantages that the presidential system of government provides to the country in matters of crisis management.
