Trump refutes reports on payments to Iran
Tehran has notified Washington that it is not charging duties, insurance fees or other payments from vessels passing through the Strait of Hormuz, despite reports to the contrary, US President Donald Trump said.
«Iran has informed the US that, despite the problematic fake news, Iran does not demand or receive any duties, insurance fees or any other payments from vessels passing through the Strait of Hormuz. If this information turns out to be false, negotiations will be terminated immediately!» Trump wrote on Truth Social.
In addition, Trump stated that the US «has not transferred any money to Iran and has not unfrozen their funds in their favor».
«We will direct part of their money, which is fully controlled by us, to our farmers and ranchers for the purchase of corn, wheat, soybeans and other things. Iran is desperately in need of food, and we will purchase it for them exclusively in the United States. Thank you for your attention to this matter!»
