European Union transfers 3.2 billion euros to Ukraine
The European Union on June 25 transferred to Ukraine the first tranche in the amount of 3.2 billion euros from the previously approved loan of 90 billion euros.
"The EU has made the first payment under the €90 billion financial assistance package agreed by the Council of the EU in April 2026, which will help Ukraine secure funding for priority needs," the Council of the EU said in a statement.
As European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced during the opening of the Ukraine reconstruction conference in Gdansk, funds from another aid package worth 6 billion euros intended for drone production will soon begin to be transferred to the Ukrainian side.
The 90 billion euro loan guaranteed by EU countries was agreed in December 2025.
