Three sisters from Brazil make it into the Guinness Book of Records - together they are 316 years old

In Brazil, three sisters were discovered who turned out to be the oldest in the world.

They became known thanks to LongeviQuest - an organization that studies long-livers.

Among the record holders are 108-year-old Levit de Deus Nunes, 104-year-old Zoraida de Deus Mota and 103-year-old Zulina de Deus Nunes. The women were born in a rural area of Brazil and grew up in a family with eight children.

Levit has always been the mainstay of the family: she took care of her younger brothers and sisters, and later of her nephews and nieces.

The woman worked for 15 years at a television channel, appearing in crowd scenes. Now she is bedridden but remains mentally sharp. Levit's favorite pastime is reading.

Zoraida trained as a teacher and then graduated from nursing school. After building a career in medicine, she got married and gave birth to five children. In her life she had to go through a divorce and the loss of two children.

Nevertheless, she retained her inner strength. The woman now lives with her daughter.

Zulina became the mother of six children and after her divorce provided for them on her own. By selling embroidery on the streets, she was able to pay for an education for each child. At 103 she continues to run the household and cook for her large family.

According to researchers, the sisters are notable not only for their age but also for their devotion to each other.

They have endured many trials but have preserved family unity.
