Number of Ebola outbreak victims in DR Congo exceeds 300
The number of confirmed deaths from Ebola fever in the Democratic Republic of the Congo has reached 304 people, increasing by 13 over the past day.
This is stated in the daily bulletin of the Ministry of Communications and Media Affairs of the DR Congo.
According to the agency, the number of cases increased by 37 and reached 1,155. The fatality rate is 26.3%.
Currently, 326 patients are in hospitals and medical isolation units. At the same time, the contact tracing rate has reached 79.2%.
138 people have fully recovered and been discharged from medical institutions.
The current Ebola outbreak began on May 15 in eastern DR Congo. Its epicenter is Ituri province. Cases of illness and death from the virus have also been registered in neighboring Uganda.
