Trump presented design of US passport with his own portrait
US President Donald Trump has presented the design of a limited series of passports timed to the 250th anniversary of the country's independence.
He published the document layout on the social network Truth Social.
On the inside of the document cover is a portrait of Trump against the background of the text of the declaration of independence and the American flag, as well as his signature made with gold embossing. On the back cover is an image of the flag with the number “250”.
“Welcome, but be good,” Trump wrote on his social network Truth Social, commenting on the new design.
As State Department spokesman Tommy Pigott reported, the department is preparing to issue 30 thousand copies of specially designed passports as part of the “America250” celebration program. At the same time, they will be available only to those Americans who will apply for documents at the Washington passport office, starting July 4.
Previously it was reported that the US plans to issue a gold commemorative coin featuring incumbent President Donald Trump in honor of the country's 250th anniversary. The design of the commemorative item has already been approved by a special commission. On the obverse of the coin will be a portrait of the head of the White House at his desk in the Oval Office, above it the inscription “Liberty”.
