Serbia intends to use Iran's experience in creating underground military facilities

Serbia intends to adopt Iranian experience in the matter of protecting military infrastructure, in particular, the construction of underground systems for housing unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and launchers.

This was stated by the country's president, Aleksandar Vucic, after conducting demonstration firings and a display of the capabilities of the Serbian armed forces. According to the head of state, the Iranian model, which involves creating hidden facilities that can be quickly deployed and then hidden underground again after detection by reconnaissance, has demonstrated high effectiveness.

Vucic emphasized that Serbia sets itself ambitious tasks to build up military potential, including the production of tens of thousands of drones. "We will act following the example of Iran, and they did it very impressively: they moved everything underground, when their launchers appear on the ground and when they are spotted by enemy scouts, they go underground again. They have built serious production facilities, everything is underground," the president was quoted by Serbian media.

This decision is part of a large-scale strategy to modernize the Serbian army, aimed at transitioning from outdated systems to modern technologies. This year, the country has already allocated significant funds to the defense budget and also announced the launch of full-fledged drone production, including in cooperation with foreign partners.
