The death toll from the earthquake in Venezuela has risen to 1,719, with more than 5,000 people injured.
This was reported by Speaker of the National Assembly of the Bolivarian Republic Jorge Rodriguez.
"The number of people killed is 1,719, 5,034 people were injured," he told reporters.
Recall that on the night of June 25, an earthquake with a magnitude of 7.1 occurred in northern Venezuela. The United States Geological Survey (USGS) later reported two tremors with magnitudes of 7.2 and 7.5, 40 seconds apart. The country's authorities declared a state of emergency.
