Trump gifted ring with 321 diamonds

The Antwerp World Diamond Centre (AWDC) gifted American leader Donald Trump a gold ring with 321 natural diamonds in honor of the 250th anniversary of U.S. independence.

The ring was handed over to U.S. Ambassador to Belgium Bill White.

As AWDC noted on Facebook (banned in Russia, owned by Meta, recognized as extremist in the Russian Federation), the ring is made of gold and adorned with 321 natural diamonds and 75 other precious stones.

"The United States has been our key trading partner for generations. Most of the natural diamonds sold in Antwerp ultimately end up with American buyers. We want this ring to become a symbol of our close economic relations," the Antwerp jewelers noted.

They particularly emphasized that only natural diamonds were used in making the ring.

"Natural and synthetic diamonds cannot be distinguished by the naked eye, but their origin, uniqueness, value, and status differ qualitatively," the center's statement said.

Antwerp's diamond business, which for centuries belonged to the local Jewish community, deals in the processing and trade of natural stones and has faced serious problems in recent years due to competition from cheaper synthetic diamonds, which are especially widespread in the United States. EU sanctions banning trade in Russian diamonds from 2024 dealt a particularly serious blow to Antwerp. This led to the bankruptcy of several local companies and a reduction in diamond trade volume from 2023 to 2025 by almost half — from €10 billion to €6 billion.

Experts noted that the EU diamond sanctions became a "gift" for U.S. synthetic diamond producers.
