Four police officers detained in Venezuela for looting
Venezuelan authorities detained four law enforcement officers on charges of appropriating property found under the rubble of buildings that collapsed as a result of earthquakes in the state of La Guaira.

According to its data, the police officers were dismissed from the agencies, and judicial proceedings will be conducted against them. Earlier, the newspaper El Nacional reported numerous cases of looting in the state of La Guaira.
The earthquake occurred in Venezuela on the evening of June 24. With an interval of about 40 seconds, two series of underground tremors with magnitudes from 7.2 to 7.5 were recorded. Their epicenters were located 10 km from each other in the state of Yaracuy. According to the latest official data, 1 943 people died, 10 571 people were injured, and 28 380 victims are receiving medical assistance in hospitals and field camps.
