Clarification from Armenia's deputy foreign minister: will the implementation of TRIPP comply with EAEU rules?

At the moment, the TRIPP project is being implemented in the format Republic of Armenia - United States of America, an agreement has been concluded and is now at the stage of implementation.

This was stated by Deputy Foreign Minister Mnatsakan Safaryan in a conversation with journalists in the National Assembly on July 1.

Journalists noted that the Russian side is questioning the effectiveness of TRIPP without Russia's participation. When asked whether involvement of Moscow in TRIPP in some format could be acceptable for official Yerevan, Safaryan replied: “I would not like to engage in any speculation by saying something about the future now. I think it is not worth it.”

When asked whether the implementation of TRIPP will comply with EAEU rules, the deputy minister answered affirmatively. “At the moment, the Republic of Armenia is a member of the EAEU, and EAEU transit rules are in effect. Customs regulation of the EAEU is carried out by our customs authorities, so we do not see a problem here. At this stage, no questions arise,” Safaryan concluded.
