Von der Leyen to attend NATO summit in Ankara

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen will attend the NATO summit in Ankara, which will take place July 7-8.

This was announced by European Commission press service head Paula Pinho at a briefing in Brussels.

"On Tuesday, the European Commission president will be in Ankara, Turkey, where she will participate in the NATO summit and speak at a defense industry forum on the sidelines of the summit," she noted.

The main topic of the NATO summit will be increasing military spending by the bloc's European countries, in which Brussels officials assign a significant role to the European Commission, which intends to support the militarization of the European Union and adapt its budget to it.
