Abnormal heat in France led to thousands of deaths

In France, more than 2,000 residents died in a week due to abnormal heat.

This was reported on July 3 by the head of the country's Ministry of Health Stephanie Rist on the TF1 channel.

It is noted that preliminary data for the period from June 22 to 28 indicate approximately 2,025 additional deaths. At the same time, Rist emphasized that the estimate is based on only 60% of the received death certificates, so the final number may change.

Rist also noted that during the recent heat wave in the country, there was a noticeable increase in mortality among citizens over 45 years old.
