Etna paralyzes the sky over Sicily: Catania airport urgently stops accepting planes
Catania Airport in Sicily has suspended the acceptance of flights due to the eruption of volcano Etna.
Italian media report this today.
Restrictions are expected to be reviewed in the evening. Departures from Catania are still allowed.
It is noted that the volcano on the eastern coast of Sicily, near the cities of Messina and Catania, became active at the end of June. According to Italian scientists, on Sunday morning Etna ejected a column of ash 1.5 km high into the air.
