Kazakhstan to extend ban on export of certain types of petroleum products until 2027

Kazakhstan to extend ban on export of certain types of petroleum products until 2027

The Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan plans to extend the ban on the export of certain types of petroleum products until May 22, 2027, according to a draft decree of the department published in the database of regulatory legal acts of Kazakhstan.

"From November 22, 2026 to May 22, 2027, a ban is established on the export of gasolines, diesel fuel and certain petroleum products by road and rail transport, including to member states of the Eurasian Economic Union," the draft says.

In addition, from January 1, 2027 to June 30, 2027, a ban is introduced on exports outside the customs territory of the Eurasian Economic Union of light distillates, aviation kerosene and diesel fuel, gas oils, toluene, xylene, and petroleum bitumen.

"The bans are introduced for a period of six months and provide for certain exceptions, including for humanitarian aid and supplies carried out by decisions of the government of the Republic of Kazakhstan," the document notes.
