Media: Hegseth cancels visit to Israel
U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth canceled his first visit to Israel, scheduled for Wednesday.
The Jerusalem Post (JPost) newspaper reported this, citing a source.
According to the publication, during the short trip Hegseth was expected to meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz.
Hegseth is currently with U.S. President Donald Trump at the NATO summit in Ankara. The short visit to Israel was planned in the context of renewed American strikes on Iran. JPost does not report the reasons for canceling this trip.
Earlier, CNN television reported on Hegseth's plans to visit Israel. According to its data, the American minister intended to dispel the concerns of the Israeli side regarding the possible sale of F-35 fighters to Turkey.
