Aregnaz Manukyan (who ran for deputy from the Prosperous Armenia party), an associate of Andranik Tevanyan, the previously arrested leader of the Mother Armenia party, has been detained.

This was reported to Sputnik Armenia by the Investigative Committee.

"Aregnaz Manukyan has been detained as part of a criminal proceeding," the IC said.

The agency added that a petition for her arrest will be submitted to the court.

Earlier it was reported that in the morning, security forces raided her home. A little later, the head of the Mother Armenia faction in the Yerevan Council of Elders, Manuk Sukiasyan, stated on social media that Manukyan had been taken to law enforcement agencies.

Recall that on June 12, employees of the Investigative Committee of Armenia conducted a search in the apartment of Aregnaz Manukyan.

At that time, the IC told Sputnik Armenia that the investigative actions were carried out as part of a criminal case on espionage and treason, under which the leader of the Mother Armenia party (who ran for deputy from the Prosperous Armenia party) Andranik Tevanyan was previously arrested.
