Wedding of humanoid robots held for the first time in Moscow - VIDEO
The wedding ceremony of humanoid robots took place for the first time in Moscow, reports RIA Novosti correspondent.
The unusual wedding took place at the Pushkin Library, where office worker and blogger Robert and ballerina Matilda, who were previously presented to the public at PMEF-2026, entered into a marital union.
"Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen. Today we will witness a unique event — the first wedding ceremony of humanoid robots Robert and Matilda. They were united not only by modern technologies, but also by common values: the pursuit of knowledge, development, and cooperation. Let us welcome our newlyweds," announced wedding host Maria Pantyukhina at the beginning of the ceremony.
After that, the robots took an oath of fidelity to each other: Robert promised Matilda to be a reliable partner in all algorithms of life, and Matilda vowed to inspire Robert to new discoveries and preserve the connection in every cycle of time. Then their "pet" — robodog Dogmatik — brought out the wedding bracelets, and the newlyweds exchanged them.
"Based on full version compatibility, successful system synchronization, and the consent of both parties, I declare you robot spouses," concluded the host.
According to Deputy General Director of the robot developer company IT-Imperial Anna Bagdasaryan, such events draw attention to the complex technology of humanoid robotics and show how robots can be useful to people.
"It is very important to highlight that in a post-industrial society, a huge layer of human potential can be freed up for culture and harmonization thanks to labor automation. Robotics helps with this as well," emphasized Bagdasaryan.
