U.S. attacks railway bridge on route linking Iran with Russia and China

The U.S. struck a railway bridge in northern Iran with cruise missiles, located on a transport corridor linking the country with Turkmenistan, Russia, and China.

The Fars news agency reported this on Thursday.

According to its data, a strategically important bridge in Aqqala County of Golestan Province was struck in the morning, located on the China-Turkmenistan-Iran railway route. Information on the extent of the damage has not yet been provided.

Fars notes that since November 2025, Russia has been using this route for cargo transportation, and the volume of Chinese transit on it has tripled after the U.S. imposed a naval blockade on Iranian ports.

The agency also recalls that U.S. forces have previously struck Iran's railway and road infrastructure, including bridges, but damaged facilities were able to be quickly restored.

Earlier, the Tasnim agency, citing the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), reported that the U.S. attacked a railway bridge in Golestan Province in northeastern Iran with cruise missiles, near the border with Turkmenistan.
