Obstacle removed in the US for sale of engines to Turkey for KAAN fighter
In the US, one of the key obstacles on the path to supplying Turkey with F110 engines, which are of strategic importance for the national KAAN fighter jet, has been overcome.
The sale of engines that will be used on Turkey's new-generation KAAN fighter jet has entered an important stage. After the US administration officially notified Congress, no decisions blocking the deal were taken during the prescribed 15-day review period.
The US State Department officially notified Congress on June 24 about the planned sale of military products to Turkey under the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) program.
During the 15-day period that applies to defense supplies to NATO ally countries, several members of Congress introduced a joint resolution to block the deal. However, no decision was taken, and the engine sale procedure will continue.
