CNN Türk: Erdogan may announce Turkey's resale of S-400
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan may announce on Friday the resale to a third country of the S-400 surface-to-air missile systems that were supplied from Russia in 2017.
This was reported by CNN Türk, which is cited by TASS.
Earlier, the newspaper Hürriyet reported that, according to its data, the S-400 will be resold to one of the Persian Gulf countries, most likely the UAE or Qatar.
Turkey purchased four S-400 air defense system divisions from Russia in 2017 for $2.5 billion. In October 2019, the company Rosoboronexport reported that the contract for the supply of the systems had been fulfilled. After concluding a contract with Russia for the supply of a regimental set of S-400, Ankara was excluded from the U.S. program to create F-35 fighters.
