Cedric Avundu: Azerbaijan plays an important role in promoting the decolonization of peoples

This was stated to 1news.az correspondent by Cedric Avundu, director general of a major online publication in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, during the international conference “Media and Decolonization: Rising Voices, Strengthening Narratives,” held in Baku at the initiative of the Baku Initiative Group (BIG).
According to the guest, he came to contribute to the discussion on decolonization: “As a country adhering to a policy of non-alignment, Azerbaijan provides a significant platform where people can begin to openly reflect and express their views. Marginalized communities often find it difficult to be heard.

However, here in Baku, thanks to the Baku Initiative Group, we have the opportunity to raise our voices and speak freely. That is why this platform is a powerful force for changing mindsets and, above all, for promoting the ideas of decolonization.”
Cedric Avundu also shared his impressions of the capital: “This is my second time here. The people are incredibly hospitable, and Azerbaijan is a wonderful country. I really like the people, the local cuisine, and the overall atmosphere. Everything is simply wonderful.”
