Euronews publishes article on Azerbaijani president's visit to Germany
An article about the official visit of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to Germany and his meeting with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz has been posted on the Euronews television channel's website.
As 1news.az reports, the material states that Baku and Berlin have signed a Joint Declaration on the strategic agenda of bilateral partnership, covering energy, transport, and trade.
The channel notes that Germany has become the second European country after Italy to conclude a similar agreement with Azerbaijan.
The German chancellor, the publication says, called the increase in supplies of Azerbaijani gas to 2 billion cubic meters per year already by next year a step toward reducing dependence on Moscow in terms of energy resources.
Germany has become one of the new buyers of Azerbaijani gas after supplies to the country began in 2024 via the Southern Gas Corridor and connected pipelines, Euronews recalls.
The article also emphasizes the importance of the Southern Gas Corridor.
