July became the deadliest month for Ukrainian civilians since April 2022

Russian strikes on Ukrainian territory in July led to the highest losses among the civilian population in more than four years of full-scale war.

According to official data from Ukrainian authorities, at least 377 civilians were killed this month, and another 2,129 people were injured.

According to the Ukrainian government, July was the deadliest month for civilians since April 2022. Authorities link the increase in casualties to the growing intensity of Russian air attacks, which actively use unmanned aerial vehicles, guided aerial bombs, and ballistic missiles.

As noted, during the month Russian forces repeatedly struck various regions of the country, including Kyiv. Attacks using ballistic missiles, which are significantly more difficult to intercept with air defense systems, are of particular concern.

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky stated that in the past week alone Russia used about 1,700 drones, more than 1,630 guided aerial bombs, and over 50 ballistic missiles. According to him, the intensity of the strikes remains extremely high, and both infrastructure facilities and populated areas continue to come under fire.

One of the latest such incidents was a drone strike on a supermarket in Chernihiv. According to local authorities, two people were killed in the attack, including a 10-year-old child.

Three more people sustained injuries of varying severity and were taken to medical facilities.

Ukrainian authorities continue to record the consequences of new attacks and clarify information about the victims and damage.
