Central Asia proposes introducing a single tourist visa
Kyrgyzstan has come forward with an initiative to introduce a single tourist visa for foreign citizens wishing to visit Central Asia.
President Sadyr Japarov announced this on July 31 at an informal consultative meeting of the heads of state of Central Asia and the president of Azerbaijan on Issyk-Kul.
Sadyr Japarov thanked the president of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and the president of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, for supporting the initiative and expressed hope for support from his other colleagues.
"I propose instructing the foreign policy agencies of our states to step up consultations in order to work out agreed positions," he explained.
The head of state added that Central Asia and Azerbaijan have great potential for cooperation in the field of tourism.
"Central Asia and Azerbaijan can offer the world the unique heritage of ancient cities, monuments of the Great Silk Road, mountain and lake landscapes, national traditions and cultural diversity," he concluded.
