Man transporting 45 kg of marijuana arrested in Baku

Officers of the Khazar District Police Department carried out an operation to combat illegal drug trafficking.

As 1news.az reports, during the operation 53-year-old Fariz Khalilov, suspected of committing the said crime, was detained.

During an inspection of the vehicle he was driving, 45 kilograms and 210 grams of marijuana were found. In his testimony, F. Khalilov noted that he had acquired the narcotics with the aim of delivering them to various addresses.

A criminal case has been opened into the incident, and by court decision the detainee has been placed in custody as a preventive measure. The investigation is continuing.
